I am married to KC and we have 7 children ranging from 5 to 23 and we have fostered 10-15. For the last 8 years, I have worked for JAG-K. I transitioned from teacher to Region Manager. I am the State Lead for Trauma-Informed Care and was the Director for our pilot program working with Foster Care kids.
Why True North?
The formation of True North is the culmination of 23 years asking, “Can Residential care be done better?” The answer to that has always been, yes. The trickier question is: How? I have been a youth home worker, youth pastor, college basketball coach, and teacher. Through my 23 yrs of working with at-risk kids, in and out of the residential facilities, I have been mentally taking notes and dreaming “If I ever ran a residential care facility I would..." which became a multi-level approach to provide basic needs, but also creating supports and a foundation for successfully transitioning into adulthood.
